Interview with LAPH Characters

An interview with the characters I’ll be using for my LAPH world…and yay, I get to finally use an author bio at the end!

Lemon: Hi. Hello…uh, welcome back to World of Chronicles whoever is listening to/reading this. It’s been a while since I’ve done an interview with my characters, and even longer since I’ve posted a meta sort of thing. Or is it vice versa?

Anyway…I wanted to introduce you to the Ashanra brothers, so you might have a taste of their characters before we launch into the LAPH world come September.

Robert: But how can people have a taste of my character when it’s rather inconsistently portrayed?

Lemon: IT IS NO—actually, it is a little. But who said I cared?

Robert: Of course.

Lemon: *squints* I don’t like that ‘of course’…

Robert: If I said anything wrong, I apologize.

Lemon: Why do I feel like you’re thinking something I don’t like—I can never tell what you’re thinking!! You have too many THOUGHTS in that head of yours!!

Robert: I should hope so. It’s one of the more consistent bits of characterization you gave to me.

Jovan: Rob, be nice to Lemon. She is our author.

Robert: She has also given us a rather…relaxed and mildly boring world to inhabit. Not that I’m complaining considering that it’s been rather a hassle for me to adjust to LAPH, but isn’t that bad for your blog and your readers?

Lemon: Well, I don’t care about readership, so there.

Jovan: That seems to be a little careless and ungrateful of you. You should always appreciate those who take the time to read what you’ve posted and accommodate them to an extent!

Lemon: Well, yes…it’s careless. But I’m serious! I started this blog not for the readership but just so I could post stuff consistently, make a timetable and all. I do appreciate those who read my works, of course I do! Who wouldn’t? But I also prefer to write something I want to read, you know? Even if I do predict I’ll worry about boring my readers…

Robert: Your preferences seem inconsistent and varied.

Lemon: You shut it!

*deep breath and glower* And, as for appreciating my readers…yes, I’m planning on making up for the rather boring content with a fun “author bio” at the end like I did for my journalism blog. Make it sound like I’m being professional instead of very lazy.

Robert: Does professionalism negate laziness?

Jovan: Well, you got to admit it makes a pretty good cover, don’t you think? Besides, don’t sell yourself short, Lemon. You do have a life to worry about. And the fact that you’re trying to continue blogging despite it is impressive.

Lemon: Ah, stop it, you two. Stop trying to confuse me. Just introduce yourselves. Name, age, and whatever else. Robert, you go first.

Robert: *thinking* Well, I’m Robert Ashanra, age 16 at the start of the story. I’m the point of view character, I think…which means you’ll be able to see most of my thoughts as I interact with the new school.

Lemon: Yes, indeed! You’ll get to see how he goes from wary and not wanting to adjust to…uh, well, whatever his natural response to circumstances he doesn’t dislike is. I haven’t figured that out yet…

*coughs* Annnyyyyway, Jovan?

Jovan: *laughs* Thank you, Lemon. I’m Jovan Ashanra, Robert’s older brother and a new teacher at Laconic’s Academy for Powered Heroes. I’m 23 years old, 22 at the story’s start, and, unlike my baby bro, I do have a little bit of superpower…not a big deal but it’s there.

Robert: Yes, I like your sparkles a lot.

Lemon: Yeah, yeah, I know you do. You’re a little weirdo who can tolerate anything except for the things you pretend not to want to tolerate.

Robert: And whose fault would that be?

Lemon: OI!! Shut it! You don’t blame the creator for your own flaws!

Jovan: To be fair, the Creator does give us a choice. But you technically give us very little choice on how to live our lives…

Lemon: Does it look like I have control over you?!?!

Robert: A little…

Jovan: I can’t disagree. But you seem high strung, Lemon…aren’t you going to ask a few more questions?

Lemon: I’m not high—*sighs* Yes, yes…what was I going to ask…oh, yeah? Anything you want to warn my readers on about the story world of LAPH?

Robert: Not particularly.

Jovan: Come on, Robby, you can do better than that! *ruffles his brother’s hair* It is mostly about you after all.

Robert: Sounds unpleasant.

Jovan: Uh huh…it’s not that horrible. It’s just very…slice of life accompanied by your colorful thoughts as you navigate a world of superheroes when you have no powers. I think our year, 444 EoP, should be the year equivalent to your 2019. There’s not going to be any gigantic twists or death-defying plot line, but it should just be a sweet school story.

*pauses and brightens*

Oh…like a shoujo manga!

Lemon: !!!!!! What??? Whaaaat? Wait…don’t compare it to that!

Robert: It sounds fitting, though.

Lemon: ACH!!! IT’S NOT, THOUGH!! I MEAN, I guess it is but—you’re a GUY!!

Robert: And guys can’t have fun, campy, lighthearted stories focusing on relationships and school life? Though, to be fair, there is very little romance in your works.

Lemon: That’s not what I meant!!!! And anyway, I’ll probably only post the intro arc, which should only be mostly set up and exposition dump… And maybe if I still feel as if I can’t post diverse content and the second arc is complete by then, I’ll post the next arc, too.

ACH!! You’re right. The first arc is just campy and fun and kind of info-dumping!! And…there aren’t a lot of plot twists because I’ll make sure they’re obvious. WHY.

*headdesks*

Jovan: Ah, well, it wasn’t meant to be offensive. What’s wrong with anime or manga?

Robert: She’s probably thinking of the negative mangas/anime.

Lemon: *lifts head* NO! No…no. I’m cool. I actually don’t hate shoujo, I was just taken aback and…and…just…

Ahem, anyway…to the readers. You guys should know that Robert and Jovan are from the same world from my L.O.L short (which I will repost with an additional last line I added cause I thought it’d be funny) and the Heroine and Hero shorts I posted a while ago. Though I already said that in my previous post…

Jovan: Oh yeah…those two shorts stories about our history! You do know they’re just modern interpretations attempting to soften the cruelty of the actual historic event, though, right?

Lemon: …wat? How did I not know—you know. Never mind…let’s just end this before I ramble too much.

Robert: You realize you’ve taken most of the word count?

Lemon: Quiet. Just say bye.

Robert: All right. Goodbye.

Jovan: *waves cheerfully* Goodbye! I hope you enjoy the stories that will come on September! J Stay cool during the summer and remember to get plenty of rest and relaxation!

Robert: That’s nearly impossible for a teenager to have…

Jovan: Only because Lemon’s countries have terrible schooling systems that give no regard to kids’ lives outside of school.

Robert: Does ours?

Lemon: Guys…time…?

Jovan: Ah, sorry …goodbye!

*ends recording*

Lemon Duck is a tired student of an unspecified race and age at an unspecified location whose Christian background (current ground?) prevents her from truly going full on criminal. Her species tends to shift depending on her mood, but she is usually somewhat human. She tries to write, draw, read, watch, and study in an attempts to complete her humanity but instead found that being chaos incarnate was a more fulfilling job.

Despite owning multiple blogs, most of them are dead and one is currently being overtaken by a weekly serial she definitely would like you to comment, criticize, like, and share; she is definitely not at all writing this biography to appear professional, forego her usual end comments, or profess her love of alphabetical orders. She also sends her love to her inducktrinated minions readers and hopes they’ve enjoyed this week’s story.

P.S. My reactions about the shoujo or however it’s spelled manga were live reactions of the realization. And I don’t even read manga…

      2. Ah, no. That’s my zoo world. If you got to the tabs under stories, you should see my laph world. And in that page, the Intro Arc (there are other stories but not part of the current arc)
